Install
What you get
Trellis Pro is a Chrome extension you download and load yourself. There is no account and no activation code — Chrome Web Store policy does not allow license-gating inside an extension, so Pro is a direct download with support and lifetime updates.
1. Install the extension
- Download and unzip the Trellis Pro folder from your order confirmation.
- Open
chrome://extensionsin Chrome. - Turn on Developer mode, top right.
- Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder.
- Pin Trellis to your toolbar so the popup is one click away.
Keep the folder where it is. Chrome loads the extension from that path every time it starts, so moving or deleting it removes the extension.
2. Add your API key
Trellis writes pin copy through your own OpenRouter key, which means you pay OpenRouter directly at cost and nothing routes through us.
- Create a key at openrouter.ai.
- Open the Trellis popup and go to Setup.
- Paste the key and pick a model.
The key is stored in your browser's local extension storage. It is never sent anywhere except OpenRouter.
3. Publish your first pin
- Enter a topic and the keyword your audience is searching for.
- Press Generate pin copy to get a title, description and hashtags.
- Add the image — either compose one in the designer or use Use my own image to pick a file from your computer.
- Open Pinterest's pin builder and press Fill on Pinterest. Title, description, link and image land in the real form.
Pinterest keeps the whole form disabled until an image is attached, so the image step is not optional — without it every field will refuse to fill.
If Pinterest changes its page
When Pinterest ships a redesign, open the Trellis popup on the pin builder and point at each field once. Trellis remembers the recipe per site, so you only teach it again after a redesign, not every session.
Updates
Updates are free for life. You will get a new zip; replace the folder and press the reload button on the Trellis card in chrome://extensions.
